Man Alive! King Krule Announces New Album
- TextOrla Brennan
This morning, former Another Man cover star King Krule announced the news of his third studio album Man Alive!, which is set to arrive on February 21. To accompany the news, the artist has released a macabre music video inspired by Carl Theodor Dreyer’s The Passion of Joan of Arc for one of the album’s new songs, (Don’t Let The Dragon) Draag On. The cinematic black and white footage captures the singer in close-up with the light of a fire flickering on his face, panning out slowly to reveal he is in fact being burned at the stake. King Krule’s short film Hey World!, released last November, saw more wholesome scenes, in which the singer performs an acoustic version of (Don’t Let The Dragon) Draag On as well as three other new songs against the backdrop of various countryside vistas. The new album’s title, King Krule explains in a statement, “is an exclamation, about the times we live in. Like, ‘Fucking hell, man!’”
Man Alive! will be released February 21, 2020. Tickets for Krule’s spring tour are available to buy here.
