Raf Simons Teases Collaboration With The xx

Raf Simons has sparked excitement with a series of Instagram posts teasing a collaboration with The xx. The posts, which simply read “Raf Simons / The xx coming soon!”, feature black and white portraits of band members Oliver Sim, Romy Madley Croft and Jamie Smith, photographed and styled by longtime Simons collaborators Willy Vanderperre and Olivier Rizzo. Other than the glimpse of a small white X-shaped pin – The xx’s definitive logo, and cover of the band’s eponymous debut album – on the lapel of a jacket or the hem of a black turtleneck, the posts give little away. The cryptic captions do, however, tag System magazine, hinting that further details of the collection will be revealed later this week when the new issue hits newsstands. The news marks the designer’s second collaboration with the London-based band, having previously joined forces with photographer Alasdair McLellan and Another Man’s fashion director Ellie Grace Cumming to create The xx’s 2017 video, I Dare You.
