Photographer and Craig Green collaborator Amy Gwatkin presents a photo essay capturing the designer’s compelling A/W19 collection
I’ve always thought that calling fashion an art form feels quite trite. The business is about selling things after all – mainly handbags and perfumes. But Craig Green is different. Sure, he sells things – very lovely clothes for that matter – but his approach to fashion feels unavoidably artistic. As exemplified in this photo essay by photographer Amy Gwatkin, who happens to be one of Green’s collaborators, the designer speaks in a language of colour, pattern, textures, shape and proportion – and does so fluently. Like any true artist. So calling his fashion an art form doesn’t feel in the least bit trite; it feels perfectly apt.
