The Riverdale and Supernatural actor stars in the house’s S/S19 men’s eyewear collection video

Today, exclusively on AnotherManmag.com, Fendi reveals its S/S19 men’s eyewear collection with a video directed by Michael James Fox and starring actor, musician and Fendi brand ambassador Rob Raco. You may recognise Raco – who hails from Windsor, Canada – from Riverdale, where he plays Joaquin DeSantos, Kevin Keller’s boyfriend, and Supernatural, where he plays Clark Barker.
In this video, he’s just playing himself: Raco is captured indoors, posing somewhat broodingly on a pale green velvet scalloped sofa. Spliced together with shots of him walking about and of the rising and setting sun, he models a pair of sunglasses for each time of the day – from the morning through to the evening.
“The new eyewear collection is a mixture of both classic and bold styles. I find myself switching out frames based on moods. It’s very diverse and sleek. I never take them off,” Raco says of the sunglasses he was asked to wear. “I’m a huge fan of classic style glasses. I love how Fendi incorporated classic styles with modern, sexy metal construction. I love something that makes a statement, whether simple or wild.”
The launch of this video comes just days before Fendi’s S/S20 menswear show, which will take place at Milan Fashion Week. The show follows the house’s A/W19 offering, which creative director Silvia Venturini Fendi used to pay tribute to Karl Lagerfeld, who died just a month after the show. Lagerfeld, who had a 54-year relationship with the house, inspired and directly contributed to the collection. “In my fantasy world, he is the only man related to Fendi,” said backstage. “So yes, he is the man in my life.”
