Another Man go in search of godmen and mystical truths…
- TextAnother Man
This season, Another Man presents four mythical covers. Up first, Grime superstar SKEPTA – photographed by Harley Weir and styled by Katy England – pens the personal story of his search for inner peace. Next, ballet’s fiery prodigal son SERGEI POLUNIN – photographed by Collier Schorr and styled by Alister Mackie – discusses his reincarnation on the big screen. Plus two A/W17 fashion covers: GUCCI photographed by Tim Walker and styled by Katy England; and PRADA photographed by Viviane Sassen and styled by Ellie Grace Cumming.
Inside the issue, a special 32-page Gucci document devoted to the arcane world of ALESSANDRO MICHELE: featuring Tim Walker’s otherworldly story inspired by the 22 Major Arcana of the Tarot; and a lexicon of 13 magical symbols illustrated by artist and skateboarding god MARK GONZALES – including a sheet of keepsake Gucci x The Gonz stickers.
Elsewhere, psychedelic filmmaker and Tarot-authority ALEJANDRO JODOROWSKY lays his cards on the table for a spiritual masterclass; HAIDER ACKERMANN talks about the new love of his life, Berluti; Tim Blanks tells the post-war story of a band of brothers who risked ruin to mythologise masculinity; and phantasmagorical artist LUIGI ONTANI opens up his inner sanctum for an exclusive audience.
In a RICK OWENS special, photographer Johnny Dufort and stylist Poppy Kain go on an Icelandic odyssey; secret ceremonies in the best from the Autumn/Winter 2017 collections; artist PIETER HUGO heads into the outlands of Morocco with Skepta’s new Nike sneakers; and profiles with Madrid’s fashion sect PALOMO SPAIN.
Plus: a ‘Document of Forbidden Knowledge’ featuring ALEISTER CROWLEY’s coded Alphabet of Daggers; the teachings of the late NY hip hop sorcerer RAMMELLZEE; the occult conspiracy theories orbiting NASA; a spotlight on SUN RA, the grand wizard of inter-planetary jazz; the secret symbology of Semina zine; and a private tour around The Museum of Witchcraft and Magic… Remember: these pages are full of potent mystical learnings – use them wisely.
