- TextOrla Brennan
Opening at the Black Diamond in Copenhagen in March of next year, Stranger Than Kindness: The Nick Cave Exhibition will explore the world of Nick Cave, celebrating more than 50 years of the Australian musician’s life and work. The immersive, multi-sensory show promises a deep dive into Cave’s “many real and imagined universes”, encompassing a wide range of media, including large-scale installations, atmospheric soundscapes and more than 300 items from Cave’s personal collection – as well as bringing together pieces from private lenders, the Nick Cave archive at Arts Centre Melbourne and the collections of Royal Danish Library. Stranger than Kindness will celebrate the power of creativity and curiosity through original artwork, handwritten lyrics, literature, photography, videos, set designs and more. To coincide with the Gucci-supported exhibition, Cave is releasing a Stranger Than Kindness book, featuring an essay by acclaimed American writer Darcey Steinke.
Stranger Than Kindness: The Nick Cave Exhibition is at The Black Diamond, Copenhagen, from March 23 – October 3, 2020.
