Loewe Taps Tyler Mitchell to Shoot A/W19 Menswear in Toledo
- TextBelle Hutton
Loewe has teamed up with Tyler Mitchell on a new limited-edition menswear publication, in a series of photographs styled by Benjamin Bruno and shot in the Spanish city of Toledo. The saturated, sun-drenched images show Loewe’s Autumn/Winter 2019 menswear collection captured against views over Toledo; the city has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1986, and the photographed collection was presented in a show held in UNESCO’s Paris headquarters in January. At the rocky landscape of Piedra del Rey Moro and inside the 16th-century building of the Museo de Santa Cruz, Mitchell photographs the colourful collection worn by a group of models, sometimes alongside playful inflatable sculptures. This Autumn/Winter 2019 publication marks the first time that Loewe has worked with Mitchell, who, alongside becoming the first African American photographer to shoot a cover of American Vogue with his Beyoncé cover in 2018, has shot for the likes of Dazed, AnOther and has had a solo exhibition at Foam Amsterdam.
