Lanvin Reveals Its New Creative Director

This morning, Lanvin has named its creative director: designer Bruno Sialleli, formerly of Spanish house Loewe. He succeeds previous artistic directors Lucas Ossendrijver and Oliver Lapidus, responsible for menswear and womenswear respectively, who left the brand last year. Siallelli will now oversee both collections. “His singular and very personal vision, his audacity, his culture, his energy and ability to build a strong creative team definitely convinced us,” Jean-Philippe Hecquet, Lanvin’s Chief Executive Officer said in a statement. “I can’t wait to discover Bruno’s first collections which will fully bring back to life this beautiful and unique fashion house.” At Loewe, Sialleli was menswear designer director, reporting to Jonathan Anderson; previous to that, he was pre-collection womenswear designer at Balenciaga, working under both Nicolas Ghesquière and Alexander Wang, as well as undertaking stints at Acne Studios and Paco Rabanne. Sialleli’s strong pedigree looks set to inject new energy into the house, which has struggled to find stability since the departure of Alber Elbaz in 2015.
