Kiko Kostadinov Debuts a Short Film Shot in His Native Bulgaria
- TextOrla Brennan
Today, Kiko Kostadinov and sports brand ASICS have debuted their latest collaboration via a short film shot in Kostadinov’s native Bulgaria. Created by director Tommy Malekoff, the film features a group of local men partaking in traditional Bulgarian singing, dancing, and wrestling while wearing their latest shoe – the GEL-Kiril. Featuring a checkerboard design “to grab your attention”, as well as a gel technology sole and an offbeat floral tread, the shoe – his first ASICS collaboration created completely from scratch over an 18-month process – comes in three colourways: black, acid green and an eye-catching blue and yellow, with each shade set to arrive in staggered succession over the coming months.
The first colourway (Cilantro) is available from February 8, 2020 at Dover Street Market London.
