HUGO Reveals David Bowie-Inspired Collection
- TextOrla Brennan
HUGO has released a capsule collection paying homage to music and visual icon David Bowie. Mining various elements of the Thin White Duke’s definitive style – from silhouettes to colour schemes – the collection spans essentials and accessories, including outerwear, T-shirts, scarves and caps. The collection in particular centres on Bowie’s 1977 to 1979 ‘Berlin Trilogy’, a body of work inspired by the German capital and consisting of the albums Low, Lodger and Heroes. The latter is celebrated with prints of the album’s Masayoshi Sukita-shot cover and elsewhere, pieces are emblazoned with Heroes’ promotional slogan, “Tomorrow belongs to those who can hear it coming”. “David Bowie was a rebel spirit who lived life on his own terms,” says Bart de Backer, HUGO menswear’s senior head of design. “This capsule is an opportunity for us to celebrate the impact he had on the world and the values that we share.”
HUGO Loves Bowie is avaiable worldwide from today.
