FKA twigs Just Performed Live at Valentino

Of the season’s soundtracks so far, this afternoon’s Valentino show surely trumped them all: a surprise – and sublimely beautiful – performance by British musician FKA twigs, who performed as Pierpaolo Piccioli’s Autumn/Winter 2020 menswear collection took to the runway. Backed up by a live pianist and cellist, and wearing an intricate white lace gown embellished with crystals, she performed cellophane and mary magdalene from her most recent album. The moving performance backgrounded a mostly monochrome collection from the house, decorated with flowers, the house monogram and slogans which read ‘bad lover’ and ‘good lover’, among others.
