At the centre of Dior’s pre-fall show, which was staged in Tokyo in November – artistic director Kim Jones mused on his love for Japan in the Spring/Summer 2019 issue of Another Man – stood an 11-metre tall robotic sculpture by the artist Hajime Sorayama, towering over a cherry blossom-printed runway. Now, these same motifs appear on a series of pieces designed in collaboration with Sorayama: not only has the Japanese artist created a futuristic version of the Dior Men’s logo, but clothes, shoes, and accessories have been printed with sakura and robot figures of a dinosaur and a woman (two signatures of Sorayama). The collection is available online and in Dior stores now – head to the gallery below to see more.
