Things between Coach and Michael B. Jordan are getting serious... Yesterday, the brand announced the launch of a collection created in collaboration with the Black Panther star, who was revealed as a face of the label in a campaign shot by Juergen Teller earlier this year. The actor’s first foray into fashion design, this collection includes ready-to-wear, footwear and bags – all inspired by the Japanese manga series Naruto, which centres around a young ninja who begins his journey as an outsider, relating to Jordan’s own path as an actor. Jordan also drew on his cultural influences and community, saying the collection was “about bringing fresh perspectives and unique voices to the forefront”. “Expanding into the fashion design space was rewarding beyond my expectations,” he added in a statement. “I’m grateful to Stuart and Coach for providing me with the opportunity and expertise to execute a collection I’m extremely proud of.” Now available online and at Coach House Regent Street, the Coach x Michael B. Jordan collection is captured in images shot by by Léo Volcy and a film directed by Black Panther alumnus Rachel Morrison.
